Man charged following suspicious death in Bilston - 14-10-2008

A 34-year-old man will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court this morning charged with the murder of a man in Bilston.

The charge is in connection with an alleged incident at about 4:30pm on Thursday 9 October on a grassland area between Bilston bus station and Church Street.

The victim, an unidentified man believed to be in his 50s, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.

Police are still trying to formally identify the victim.

A second man, aged 45, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and continues to help police with their inquiries.

Police investigating the death continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to anyone in the area of Church Street between 4.15pm and 5pm on Thursday October 9 and may have seen a small group of men on the benches near to the bus station.
