To week anniversary of Wolverhampton death - 10-10-2008

Coming up to the two-week anniversary of the death of Stainton Barrett in Wolverhampton, detectives investigating his death are reappealing for information from two vital witnesses.
The 59-year-old man died in Banstead Close, All Saints, Wolverhampton on Saturday 27 September at approximately 5am.
Detectives are specifically appealing for a taxi driver to come forward who is believed may have vital information. Around the time of the incident the taxi driver, believed to be a man driving a dark or blue vehicle, dropped off a family in the area of the Monkey house public house in Kent Road. The driver may have witnessed part or the entire incident that took place both around the Monkey House and Banstead Close area.
Detective Sergeant Karen Payne, from Bilston Street CID, said: "We are also looking for a white woman in her 30s who was in the Kent Road area at the time of the incident. This woman may also have seen part of or the entire incident. She is described as having long black shoulder length hair, approx 5ft 5ins tall, wearing a black jacket and skirt."
Officers would like to speak to the woman or the taxi driver involved and urge them to contact Bilston Street CID on 0845 113 5000 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A 23-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Four other men aged 26,30,30 and 28 have also been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and affray and a fifth man aged 40 has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. |
