Release of cctv following wounding in Hillfields Coventry - 04-09-2008

Police in Coventry have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection to a wounding in Hillfields, Coventry.

The incident occurred between 1:30am and 1:45am on Sunday 18 May this year in South Street in Hillfields.

A man aged 32 was pushed, causing him to fall to the floor. The offender demanded the victim's property and made off with his wallet and sports bag. The victim suffered a broken elbow during the assault.

Detective Inspector Martin Lawrence from CID at Little Park Street police station, said: "This was a violent attack. Police are keen to identify the man as he may hold vital information to assist with the inquiry."

Police are urging the man to come forward. Anyone who recognises the man, witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to call CID at Little Park Street police station on 0845 113 5000 or crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
