Appeal following dog attack Foleshill Coventry - 20-08-2008

Police in Coventry are appealing for witnesses and information following a dog attack in the Foleshill area. The incident occurred around 4pm on Friday (15 August).
A woman aged 73 was cycling along a footpath between Tesco at Arena Park and Lythalls Lane in Foleshill, Coventry when she was attacked by a dog.
The victim was knocked off her bike by the dog and received a dog bite to her left thigh, requiring hospital treatment.
Despite asking the dog's owner for assistance, the owner made off from the scenewith the dog, leaving the victim on the ground.
PC Angie Fisher from Paragon neighbourhood team, said: "This was a particularly vicious attack and we would like to trace the dog and its owner before another incident occurs. Police are concerned the dog may be an illegal fighting dog or mixed breed."
The owner of the dog is described as an Asian man, tall, slim build, aged 20 - 30 years, with very short dark hair.
The dog is described as quite large, brown mixed with another colour, and a round face similar to a bulldogs face.
