Enquires continue into attack on bar - 12-05-2008
|
Police in Stourbridge are today, Monday 12 May 2008, continuing to investigate an attempted arson attack on the Que Pasa Bar in the town at around 2.15am on Saturday morning, 10 May.
DI Will O'Connor said a principal line of enquiry was that the offender was a disgruntled customer who had earlier been asked to leave the premises.
Police are still appealing for witnesses and wish to speak to anyone who was in the Que Pasa Bar on Friday evening or the early hours of Saturday morning.
The offender, believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s, threw an accelerant believed to be petrol into the entrance of the bar, causing injuries to one member of the public.
The injured man remains in hospital suffering burns to his hands and feet. His injuries are described as serious but not life threatening. No other persons were injured.
The offender is described as white, bald and between 5ft 8 and 5ft 10in tall. He is of medium build and was wearing a dark jacket with a white t-shirt underneath.
"We are continuing to trace and speak to witnesses and locate CCTV footage which should help identify the offender," said DI O'Connor.
"In fact, we would also appeal to this man to come forward so that he can assist the inquiry by explaining the full circumstances of the incident."
Anyone with any information is asked to call Stourbridge police station CID 0845 113 5000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. |
