Pop into the gallery to see this short film by Ben Young, an emerging artist interested in the male identity. Inspired by ‘The Golden Man', a 1950s short story that describes how a golden skinned mutant may replace the human race, Ben Young presents this video work as a sequel to the original story. Young's own family appear in this film, which compares the ‘1950's pre-pill' era to the ideals of the 21st Century. An idealised, heroic male lead battles a gigantic crab in this myth filled video work. Young studied at the Royal College of Art and Goldsmiths College, and has exhibited in group shows across the UK.
