All kinds of different people make good police officers, and all have one thing in common: the desire to make a difference to the communities they serve. If you're looking for a new challenge and you want to give something back to the community, why not consider a career with Thames Valley Police?
Becoming a police officer is much more than just a job. It's a calling that means different things to each one of us. Because of the commitment involved, we expect you - and those close to you - to have all kinds of questions about joining us.
This is why we are holding some recruitment awareness events this month. Come along and meet members of our Community Recruitment Network, a special team of officers and staff dedicated to encouraging people from ethnic minority communities to join the police service.
Anyone interested in becoming a police officer will be able to talk to existing officers, pick up literature and get advice about the recruitment process.
Inspector Ian Smith, from the Force's Community Recruitment Network, who will be on hand offering advice to potential recruits at the event, said: "We are lucky to have such a diverse community in Berkshire East and this is a great opportunity for people from different backgrounds and all walks of life to come to the event and find out what working for the police is all about."
The recruitment events are as follows:
17 September, Heathrow Thistle Hotel, UB7 0EQ 11am to 6pm 18 September, Heathrow Thistle Hotel, UB7 0EQ 10am to 4pm 26 September, Uxbridge Civil Hall, UB8 1UW 11am to 6pm
Everyone is welcome and no appointment is necessary.
