 M4 closed: junctions 12-13 - Berkshire    

Police are currently on the scene of a vehicle fire on the west-bound carriageway of the M4 between junctions 12 and 13 in Berkshire.

The tanker was carrying a large amount of a form of gas oil and firefighters are on the scene and have extinguished the flames.

However, for safety reasons the M4 has been closed in both directions between those junctions until further notice and Motorists are advised to avoid that part of the M4 and make alternative arrangements, as the closure will have a knock-on effect on traffic in both directions.

There are no casualties.
