Royal Ascot policing update
The opening day of Royal Ascot yesterday (17/6) passed with very few concerns for police. Although crowd numbers exceeded 30,000, only six arrests were made.

Breakdown of arrests:
A man was given a fixed penalty notice for a public order offence and ticket touting.
A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of common assault following an incident at a bar in the High Street. He has been bailed pending further inquiries.
A man was issued a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested following a domestic-related incident. She has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
A 21-year-old man from the West Midlands was cautioned for common assault following a domestic-related incident.
A man in his 50s was stopped by officers who discovered he was wanted on a warrant in connection with a non payment of fines. He was subsequently arrested and will be appearing before court today (18/6). The incident is not connected to the Royal Ascot event. http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/index.htm |
