POLICE APPEAL FOR PEOPLE TO CLAIM STOLEN PROPERTY
Police in Leigh have recovered what is believed to be stolen property, and
are hoping the rightful owners will come forward to claim it.
On Monday 4 August 2008 police seized the following items on the car park
of the Lancastrian Squash Club in Leigh - a ‘Navman F 20' sat-nav device, a
red sat-nav storage case, compact discs in a denim case and various items
of jewellery in a small velvet bag.
A ‘Muddy Fox' and a ‘Claude Butler' mountain bike were also seized.
PC Stephen Marsden of the Leigh Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We
return stolen property whenever we can, but in this case we have exhausted
our enquiries and still can't find the rightful owners. Therefore we are
asking people to come forward to claim these items, as we believe they are
still in good working order and if not claimed they may have to be
destroyed."
Police say the property will only be released to people who can produce
either a matching serial number or valid receipts.
If anyone believes they may be the owner of one of these items, please
contact the Leigh Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0161 856 7225 and quote
the serial number to check for a match. Alternatively, bring any receipts
showing proof of purchase to Leigh Police Station on Chapel Street, Leigh. |
