Why not come and visit Kents Cavern in Torquay ? A natural cave situated on the coast of South Devon. One of Britain’s best examples of geological and archaeological heritage. Can be visited whatever the weather !
Research has shown that people and animals have visited and used the caves for thousands of years, with their depths being explored and excavated since 1571.
Tours are run daily and take you through these two million year old caves, they last about an hour and routes are accessible for most visitors, although, unfortunately wheelchair access is not possible. The knowledgeable guides will tell you about the caves and explain how stalactites and stalagmites form and why these caves are the most important prehistoric cave dwellings in Britain.
What else can you do when visiting Kents Cavern in Torquay?
There are plenty of things to do other than just visit the cave, kids love the activity area, where they can get involved with a fun dig, cave painting, brass rubbings and tribal face markings, the woodland trails have themed quests to make them more interesting. There is also a restaurant and shop, gardens to walk around and picnic areas should you want to bring your own lunch.
How to get there:
* Off of the M5, follow signs to Torquay then signs to Kents Cavern- sat nav - TQ1 2JF, 89 Ilsham Road, Torquay.
* By foot from Meadfoot beach, along the South west coast path.
* Nearest station is Torquay, follow signs to Torquay harbour then look for signs to Kents Cavern.
* By bus, the cavern is about a 5 minute walk from St Matthias Church bus stop in Torquay.

Kents Cavern can offer 5 unique venues to hold civil wedding ceremonies. Themed receptions can also be catered for in the on site restaurant.
