ROADWORKS REPORTWEEK ENDING: 7th December 2008
New Works
Forest Lane, Kirklevington
As a result of electrical works being carried out by NEDL, temporary traffic signals are required outside 39 to 43 and 52/54 Forest Lane on Saturday 6th December for one day only.
Witham Avenue, Eaglescliffe
As a result of Seymour's carrying out works for Northumbrian Water, temporary traffic signals are required on Witham Avenue on Sunday 30th November for one day only.
Continuing Works
A66 Reconstruction/Resurfacing Work, Viewley Hill Farm (East of
Long Newton) to Yarm Road (A10270)
Contractors working on behalf of the Highways Agency will be undertaking essential carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing work on an approx 5 km length of the A66 from Viewley Hill Farm (east of Long Newton Village) to the Yarm Road (A1027) interchange for a period of approx 9 weeks from 20th October 2008 until 17th December 2008.
The works will involve east/west bound lane closures replaced with contra flow traffic management with single lane running, together with the closure of slip roads, side roads (mainly evening times with signed diversion routes), central reserve crossings, lay bys, cycleway/footpaths and vehicle width restrictions. A 50 mph speed limit will be in force through the works.
The work will be carried out in 2 phases, Phase 1 - Viewley Hill Farm to Elton Interchange will begin on the 20th October 2008 for approx 4 weeks until 14th November 2008 and Phase 2 - Elton interchange to Yarm Road (A1027) 17th November 2008 for approx 5 weeks until 17th December 2008.
Eaglescliffe Interchange to Yarm Road:
18th November pm - 4th December am, between 19:00 and 06:00 (or 08:00 on a Saturday and Sunday morning), contra flow traffic management with single lane running on the west bound carriageway.
5th December pm - 16th December am, 19:00 to 06:00 (or 08:00 on a Saturday and Sunday morning), Contra flow traffic management with single lane running on the east bound carriageway.
16th December pm - 17th December am, 19:00 to 06:00, East and west bound lane 2 closures.
A19 Portrack Interchange
Remedial works (signing and lining) on the A19 Portrack Interchange are to begin on Monday 10th November. Two lanes will be maintained on all approaches and round the circulatory areas of the roundabouts between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 each day of the week. Outside these hours one lane will be maintained on the approaches and around the roundabouts. There are no plans for road closures.
Lining works are to commence on Wednesday 26th November from 10:00pm and throughout the evening for approximately one week, weather permitting. The roundabouts will be reduced to one lane during these works.
Hardwick Estate
Temporary road closures from 16th August, 2007, for approximately an 18-month period to allow service diversions and construction works at High Newham Road, Waldridge Road, Whitburn Road, Whorlton Road and Windleston Close, Hardwick.
Norton High Street
As a result of demolition and construction works to numbers 44 - 48 Norton High Street being undertaken by Wharton Construction Ltd a temporary closure of the service road and footpath directly outside numbers 44 - 48 is required from Monday 16th June for approximately 40 weeks. Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained. A pedestrian diversion will be signed via a protective barrier on the road along the High Street.
Seal Sands Road, Billingham
As a result of Northumbrian Water Limited installing a temporary water supply to Seal Sands and repairing the damaged feeder main, temporary traffic signals will be required on Seal Sands Road 50 metres to the east of the level crossing to the Stockton Boundary, from Monday 10th November. The signals will be manually controlled a peak times and a further meeting is required to determine the duration of these works.
Port Clarence Road, Billingham
Due to Direct Services carrying out works to the cycleway and fencing along Port Clarence Road near to Saltholme Close, temporary traffic management will be required. Initially Stop/Go boards will be used, but as works progress temporary traffic signals will be required.
Works will begin on Tuesday 25th November for approximately 4 weeks.
Aiskew Grove Shops
As a result of works to provide parking bays in front of Aiskew Grove shops, there may be disruptions to parking and pedestrians in the area in front of the shops from Monday 24th November for 4 weeks.
North Middlesbrough Access Road
Middlesbrough Borough Council will be implementing a full closure of the east bound entry slip road from Newport Roundabout to the A66 for Balfour Beatty to carry out works for the construction of the new slip and link roads to provide access to the Ironmasters area of Middlesbrough. This may cause some congestion on A1032 Newport Bridge Approach Road at peak times. Works are to begin on Sunday 23rd November for approximately 16 weeks. |
