Hip Hop is Happening in Stockton Schools... A new dance initiative is to be launched in Secondary Schools across Stockton on Tees this coming September. Stockton School Sports Partnership (SSSP), working alongside Stockton Sports Development will be co-ordinating the delivery of Hip Hop, Street and Break Dance sessions within schools such as Ian Ramsey, Bishopsgarth and St Patricks RC Thornaby. Children will be given this unique opportunity to get involved in the latest craze ‘Street Dance' inspired by ‘Britain's Got Talent' winner George and the many popular chart topping bands that focus their music videos on exciting hip hop styled dance routines. Funding will be allocated to source professional dance coaches who will inspire, motivate and teach children the basics; encouraging them to develop their own choreography skills and concluding with a performance at the end of their 10 weeks activity. Community Dance Coach for SSSP Lyndsey Davis comments; "Hip Hop and Street have been the most commonly requested styles of dance and youngsters are excited by this funky new style, it's a great way to get them doing more physical activity whilst having fun and building their own confidence" For further information on the scheme and details on how to get involved please contact Lyndsey Davis Community Dance Coach (SSSP) on 01642 539562/ 07749292597 |
