THE Mayor of Stockton is inviting people to join him at a coffee afternoon in aid of a local charity. Councillor John Fletcher is holding the charity event on Wednesday, September 10 from 1.30 - 4pm at the Town Hall on Stockton High Street in aid of the Butterwick Hospice. "The Butterwick Hospice provides specialist palliative care to children and adults with life limiting illnesses and the coffee afternoon is a wonderful way for people to show their support," said Councillor Fletcher. "A lot of people have never seen inside our Town Hall, which dates back to 1735. This is also a great opportunity to have a conducted tour and see where local democracy takes place." The coffee afternoon costs £2.50 including a range of Fairtrade tea, coffee and biscuits with tickets available from the Mayor's Office or at the Town Hall on the day. For more information or to buy tickets, call the Mayor's Office on (01642) 528161 or email mayors.office@stockton.gov.uk http://www.stockton.gov.uk/ |
