ROADWORKS REPORT WEEK ENDING: 7th September 2008
New Works
A66 Surtees Bridge Remedial Works
Remedial works on Surtees Bridge are to start on Monday 1st September as detailed below:
The eastbound exit slip road at Thornaby Road Interchange will be closed on the nights (20:00 - 06:00) of 1st, 2nd and 3rd September to enable the repairs to the road surface at the top of the slip road and replacement of lighting columns with passively safe equivalents.
The westbound exit slip road at Boathouse Lane interchange will be closed on the nights of 4th and 5th September to enable the replacement of one street lighting column with passively safe equivalent.
Diversion routes will be signed. The dates of the works will be subject to weather conditions, but should certainly be completed during next week.
There will also be some drainage works adjacent to the westbound entry slip road at the Thornaby Road Interchange, which have not yet been scheduled. However, this work will be carried out with a coned off safety zone, which will not require closure of any of the traffic lanes.
A177 Durham Road, Stockton
As a result of widening works on the A177 Durham Road, at the exit from Tesco Extra, lane narrowing will be required on the southbound carriageway from Monday 1st September for 10 weeks during off peak hours (09:30 - 15:30).
Resurfacing works will be carried out towards the end of the 10 week period and overnight closures will be required over two or three weekends. Further details of these closures will be provided closer to the time.
Norton Road, Norton
As a result of Direct Services carrying out 'raised entry treatment' works on Norton Road, closures are required on Newland Avenue, Imperial Avenue and Victoria Avenue on Sunday 31st August. Closures are also required on Derwent Street, Grove Terrace and Windmill Terrace on Sunday 7th September for one day only. Access for pedestrians will be maintained.
Newland Avenue - From it's junction with Norton Road in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres. The diversion route will be via Oaklands Avenue / Westlands Avenue, Albany Road, Keithlands Avenue / Imperial Crescent, Imperial Avenue and Norton Road.
Imperial Avenue - From it's junction with Norton Road in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres. The diversion route will be via Imperial Crescent, Southfield Road, Gladesfield Road, Mount Pleasant Road and Norton Road.
Victoria Avenue - From it's junction with Norton Road in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres. The diversion route (out) will be via Mowbray Road, the back alley and Norton Road. The diversion route in will be via Trent Street, Derwent Street and the back alley and Norton Road.
Derwent Street - From it's junction with Norton Road in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres. The diversion route will be via the back alley, Victoria Avenue and Norton Road.
Grove Terrace - From it's junction with Norton Road in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres. The diversion route will be via Birkley Road, Mount Pleasant Road and Norton Road.
Windmill Terrace - From it's junction with Norton Road in an easterly direction for a distance of approximately 10 metres. The diversion route will be Windmill Terrace and Norton Road.
Thornaby Road, Thornaby
As a result of works being carried out by Northumbrian Water Ltd outside 339 Thornaby Road, temporary traffic signals will be required during off-peak hours (09:30-15:30) on Sunday 31st August for one day only.
Yarm Road / Hartburn Lane Bridge
As a result of bridge deck waterproofing works on Yarm Road adjacent to the junction of Yarm Road / Hartburn Lane, temporary traffic signals will be required as existing signals will be switched off for the duration of the works. The works are due to commence on Monday 1st September for duration of six weeks.
Ellerton Road, Stockton
As a result of works being carried out by Northumbrian Water Ltd outside 63 Ellerton Road, temporary traffic signals will be required on Tuesday 2nd September for one day only.
Copse Close, Ingleby Barwick
As a result of works being carried out by Northumbrian Water Ltd outside 12 Copse Close, temporary traffic signals will be required on Tuesday 2nd September for one day only.
Continuing Works
A67 Thirsk Road
As a result of footpath reconstruction works by Direct Services, temporary traffic signals are required on the A67 Thirsk Road / A1044 Green Lane Roundabout from Monday 18th August to Friday 5th September.
Yarm High Street
Northumbrian Water / Balfour Beatty works started in Yarm High Street on 7th January 2008 and are now on site working from Riverside Mews heading towards the Catholic Church on the East side in the cobbles / parking area.
Hardwick Estate
Temporary road closures from 16th August, 2007, for approximately an 18-month period to allow service diversions and construction works at High Newham Road, Waldridge Road, Whitburn Road, Whorlton Road and Windleston Close, Hardwick.
Norton High Street
As a result of demolition and construction works to numbers 44 - 48 Norton High Street being undertaken by Wharton Construction Ltd a temporary closure of the service road and footpath directly outside numbers 44 - 48 is required from Monday 16th June for approximately 40 weeks. Access for residents and emergency services will be maintained. A pedestrian diversion will be signed via a protective barrier on the road along the High Street.
A1032 Newport Bridge Approach Road
As a result of works to the access to the Terra Site on the A1032 being carried out by John Hellens (Contracts) Ltd, lane closures are required from the 16th June for 12 weeks during off-peak hours (09:30 - 15:30). A temporary central reserve closure is required for approximately 10 weeks, at the access to the Volvo / GrowHow site. Access will be left in / left out. Access from the south will be to 'u-turn' around the Synetix roundabout at the end of Portrack lane.
Sandy Leas Lane, Elton
As a result of resurfacing works on Sandy Leas Lane, temporary traffic signals will be required. Work will commence on Tuesday 26th August and are expected to last for one week. http://www.stockton.gov.uk/ |
