Cleveland Police are requesting the help of supporters at the Middlesbrough v Manchester City match which took place on Sunday 11th May and resulted in several assaults on police officers and criminal damage by the visiting supporters. Police investigating the post-match incident have released twenty photographs of suspects believed to have been involved in the violence. They may emanate not only from the Manchester region but may even be from the Derby or Birmingham areas also. The incident took place as the match came to a close at 4.45pm in the lower area of the south stand. A group of Manchester City supporters confronted police in a stand-off, they ripped out seats and assaulted officers. Others joined in the fracas, and whilst no officers sustained major injuries, police are keen to identify those responsible.
