Cleveland Police will be hosting a delegation of four police officers who are on an International Strategic Leadership Programme at Bramshill in Hampshire, which is the training centre for senior officers aiming to achieve the rank of Chief Constable. The delegation includes:- 47 year old Colonel Ali Al Mazrouei from Abu Dhabi Police Service. He has 28 years service in the police - 18 of which was spent in the UAE Air Force and he is currently in charge of the Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing. Ali will be focusing on the role of Air Support within operational policing which he can take back to his own police force. Assistant Commissioner, Kedilkilwe Dikgang, (known as News) from Botswana Police Service, who at 50 years of age has 29 years in the police service and gained policing qualifications from both Botswana and at the University of Leicester, Bramshill, Greater Manchester Police and the Law Enforcement Academy in the USA. News wants to look at responses to violent crime whilst on the Strategic Leadership Programme. Superintendent Michael De Silva from the Bermuda Police Service, who is 40 years old with 23 years police service experience. He is currently the officer heading the Corporate Services Department in Bermuda and he is looking to build a strategic framework for a system of performance management to take back to his home country. And 44 year old Assistant Commissioner for the Royal St Lucia Police Service, Andre Cox has been tasked with 'Developing a National Community Safety Plan' for his Force. As Assistant Commissioner he has responsibility for implementing the Force objectives and plans for territorial policing, and has 25 years policing experience under his belt. Supt Steve Sugden, Head of Middlesbrough Police District said, "We are looking forward to welcoming our overseas visitors. Our colleagues have a full and very diverse programme to get through during their stay. We will share with them the very successful way Middlesbrough Police and our partners are delivering a Citizen Focused service to improve the quality of life for the people in the town.
