All children have to do is borrow books three times in a month. The children will be split into two categories - age six to 12 and age 13 to 16.
The competition runs from April to July. One winner from each category will be drawn on May 30th and July 31st.New and existing Stockton Council Libraries members are welcome to join in.
Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, Councillor Mary Womphrey, said: "The prize on offer in this competition is bound to prove popular and will no doubt see more and more children borrowing books from Roseworth Library in the hope of winning.
"Books are a wonderful form of entertainment for children and young people and this competition, in the National Year of Reading, is a great way of boosting the number of children reading for pleasure."
