CFYA Awards 2008 - Monday, 23 June

CFYA Awards 2008

DO you know someone who keeps their garden rosy, a business which goes that extra step when it comes to recycling or a school that does its bit for the community?

Well, if you do why not nominate them for a Care For Your Area Award?

Stockton Council is looking for nominations from across the Borough for the annual

Care For Your Area Awards and there are a host of categories to choose from.

The Community Awards mainly centre around the environmental contributions that individuals, groups or schools make in helping to make the Borough a cleaner and greener place to live. So if you can think of anyone who is a recycling champion, litter picks their area or perhaps a pub or business which fills their frontages with floral displays, why not nominate them for one of the following categories:

  • Best Individual Contribution
  • Best Group Contribution
  • Best Community Contribution
  • Best School Contribution
  • Best Business Contribution
  • Best Environmental Contribution
  • Best Conservation Contribution
Stockton is proud of its success in winning Britain in Bloom last year and would like to encourage more residents to play a part with their own gardens. If you know of a green fingered friend, neighbour or group, why not give them some recognition and nominate them in one of the following categories:
  • Best Garden
  • Best Hanging Basket/Containers
  • Best Business Garden
  • Best Neighbourhood Garden Project
  • Best Pensioner Garden
  • Best Front of Public House
Councillor Jennie Beaumont, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: "There are many individuals, businesses and schools who put their caring into action and help make Stockton Borough a cleaner, greener place to live and work.

"Nominating someone for a Care For Your Area award is a way of showing their extra efforts are much appreciated by all."

The closing date for all nominations is Monday, 23 June and forms are available by calling (01642) 391959, emailing careforyourarea@stockton.gov.uk or by logging on to http://www.stockton.gov.uk/All finalists will be invited to a presentation ceremony on 5 December at the Swallow Hotel, Stockton http://www.stockton.gov.uk/
