Green Bean is new on the scene -

A NEW café in Stockton's Cultural Quarter will provide the perfect place to relax while enjoying a cuppa. The Green Bean, In Green Dragon Yard, is a joint venture between Tees Music Alliance and Stockton Council's Children, Education and Social Care, employing adults with learning disabilities.The café, located in Green Dragon Studios, will be open 12 - 2pm each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, selling a selection of hot and cold drinks along with tasty organic snacks and sandwiches. All tea, coffee and hot chocolate is Fairtrade. Councillor Ann McCoy, Stockton Council's Cabinet Member for Adult Services and Health, said: "The Green Bean is a result of strong partnership working and I am sure it will be a great success and a positive addition to the Cultural Quarter."
Paul Burns, Director of Tees Music Alliance, added: "We are really excited about The Green Bean; it is lovely to have a space to hold meetings and meet up with friends over a cup of coffee and a slice of something nice. We hope the increasing number of people coming through the Cultural Quarter will make a habit of popping in now and again. "Although we are only open three lunch times at present, we hope to extend this should demand increase."The café complements the new arts and craft shop, Green Dragon Arts, which opened in November, thanks to a partnership between Stockton Council's Arts Development and the Adult Learning Disability Service. It is open 11am - 3pm on Wednesday through to Saturday each week.
