Strawberry Hill House at the Chelsea Flower Show 2008. - 13-05-2008

Strawberry Hill House in conjunction with Architectural Heritage is proud to announce that a new Shell Bench will be launched at the Chelsea Flower Show 2008.

Originally designed by Walpole's close friend Richard Bentley, it was inspired by the shell in Boticelli's 'Birth of Venus'.  The reproduction is nearly 16ft high and 10ft lond.  It is carved from oak and only 101 will be made to order, each one numbered and catalogued at Strawberry Hill. 

One bench will take pride of place in the restored gardens there.  The price is £15,000.
