Discover a new side to Kew Gardens: hidden heritage, featuring Kew Palace We all know Kew Gardens as the perfect place for a picnic, or to enjoy the sights and smells of the great outdoors, but there is another side to Kew Gardens waiting to be discovered. Kew Heritage Day out with over 39 listed heritage sites within the gardens - come and join us for a fascinating day-out exploring our undiscovered heritage. Highlights include.. Kew Palace, Queen Charlottes cottage, The Palm House, The Orangery, Museum No.1 and unique tours led by our experts
Tour details There will be a choice of 2 tours:
1) 11:00 Kew Palace tour (£3 per person)
Step back in time on a fascinating tour of this intimate palace, led by one of our palace experts. Discover the compelling story of George III and his family in this, their much loved family home. Dates: Thurs 8 May - Sat 10 May - Sun 11 May - Tues 13 May - Thurs 15 May - Sat 17 May - Sun 18 May - Tues 20 May
2) 14:00 Heritage Gardens tour (£3 per person)
Learn about Kew Gardens rich historical past, and discover the secrets of long forgotten buildings. As your explore the gardens a resident expert will explain how they have evolved and tell you the fascinating stories behind the buildings and the characters that shaped what you will see here today. Dates: tours run daily 7 - 21 May
Further information/Booking details All tours must be booked in advance and are subject to availability Tours start from outside Kew Palace Admission tickets to Kew Gardens and Kew Palace need to be purchased in addition to the tour price
The Heritage Gardens tour is run by the RBGKew. Tours are bookable by emailing tours@kew.org or calling 020 8332 5604. Tours are subject to availability and RBGKew reserve the right to cancel the tour if there are less than three people booked. A full refund will be available.
To reserve tickets for the Kew Palace tour call 0844 482 7777 or visit the Kew Palace Welcome centre within Kew Gardens. There is a maximum of 30 people per tour of Kew Palace.
Opening times for heritage sites varies, please check before your visit. Kew Palace entry is not included in the Kew Gardens admission ticket. |
