FLEETWOOD Police are appealing for the public's help in their search for an elderly man who went missing from his home in Fleetwood yesterday morning (Thursday 17 July). The seventy-seven year old man from the Hatfield Estate in the town was last seen by his wife at their home around 9.30am. Sgt Bryan Reynolds said: "This man has lived with his wife in the Fleetwood area for many years and is likely to still be somewhere along the Fylde coast. He struggles with walking and would find it difficult to walk beyond 1-2 miles. "He has suffered from depression for over 50 years which is brought on by lack of sleep or other illnesses and we are growing increasingly concerned for his safety. He has taken a small amount of cash and a small rucksack containing a months worth of medication but no change of clothes." The man is of a slim build with short grey thinning hair, a fresh complexion with brown eyes and glasses. He was last seen wearing a maroon sweater with a white and brown checked shirt, blue jeans, brown shoes and a checked flat hat. He also had on an olive green anorak jacket and was carrying a distinctive bright orange rucksack.
