MEMBERS of the public will have a chance to meet their county councillors face-to-face during a forthcoming visit to Leyland. The visit is part of Parkicipate, which takes place at Worden Arts and Crafts Centre in Worden Park on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July. Members of the public have the chance to visit the county council's Mobile Unit on Saturday 26 July between 11am and 3pm. Parkicipate is a family fun day, which involves a series of arts workshops and events taking place at Worden Park. Lancashire County Councillors attending on the day include Graham Davies, Fred Heyworth, Tom Sharratt, Matthew Tomlinson and Keith Young. County Councillor Matthew Tomlinson, who represents Leyland Central, said: "Popular events, such as Parkicipate, are an excellent opportunity for members of the county council to meet local people and find out more about their concerns. This visit gives people the chance to speak to their councillors and discuss important local issues. "There are often some quite lively discussions about the services we offer, as people are quite rightly passionate about the services in their communities. "Our Mobile Unit includes lots of information about council services and we have people on hand to help to answer your enquiries." The event is organised by South Ribble Borough Council, the South Ribble Partnership and the South Ribble Arts Forum. Representatives from the Lancashire County Library and Information Service are also taking part in Parkicipate.
