|
THERE is a rare chance to learn vital skills to find your way round some of the Forest of Bowland's finest countryside and get a preview of a brand new map as part of the Bowland Festival in June. Anyone keen to learn the mysteries of map reading are being urged to book a place on one of two highly regarded FREE courses being run as part of a week-long celebration of The Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). And anyone who takes part will be amongst the first to see and use the brand new Harvey's map of the area. The specialist maps, commissioned by the Forest of Bowland AONB team, are double sided featuring a 1:55 000 representation of the whole AONB with cycle routes and long distance footpaths, bridleways and local facilities on one side. The other side is 1:25 000 and shows the access land on the Bowland Fells in great detail - making it perfect for navigating your way across open country.
