Police are appealing for witnesses after twin brothers were assaulted outside the Spar shop in Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth.
At 2am on Sunday, October 5, the two 22-year-old men from Southsea were making their way home after a night out in Guildhall Walk.
They were approached by a man who asked them directions to the Students Union. This man then punched one of the twins in the face, knocking him unconscious, and immediately punched the other in the face.
Both men were taken to Queen Alexandra hospital for treatment, and sustained black eyes. One also had a swollen lip and a cut under his chin which required stitches.
The man who attacked the twins is described as: - White
- Aged around 22 years old
- 5ft 7ins tall
- Slim build
- Dark brown short hair
- Wearing a blue t-shirt and dark jeans
PC Sharon Baber said, "We would like to speak to anyone who saw this assault take place, and in particular to two men who offered to help the men who had been attacked, and asked if they needed help getting home. These men said they were students. One is white, around 24 years old, wearing a white top and blue jeans, the other is of a similar age and dark skinned. He was wearing a grey jumper and blue jeans. It is very likely they saw the incident and could provide vital information about the offender." Can you help?
