Detective Constable Toby Wilson said, "This was an unprovoked attack which left the man involved with some nasty injuries. St Andrews Road is often used as a through road for those who have been on a night out in the Elm Grove area, and so I would appeal to anyone who heard or saw anything to contact police as soon as possible to assist us in identifying the men who did this."
