Police in Portsmouth have renewed their appeal for witnesses to an incident where a woman was sexually assaulted.
A 47-year-old woman from North End has told officers that she met a man as she walked along Kingston Road, Fratton between 1.45am and 2am on the morning of Saturday, June 28.
They walked a little way along the road together and the man then dragged her off of the main road and into some bushes. She was sexually assaulted and punched in the face.
The attacker then fled-the woman is not sure in what direction. She managed to get to Fratton police station where she raised the alarm.
The CCTV images show two people who may have seen the couple as they walked together - one is a man who wore camouflaged trousers and a backpack on Kingston Road, and the other is a man who was on a bike outside the Co-Op in Sultan Road.
Detective Sergeant Sharon Murray, who is investigating the incident, said, "The men in these images may remember seeing the couple, and particularly the woman as she was wearing a distinctive pink jumper and turquoise cropped trousers. I would ask anyone who has any information, and particularly the two men in the CCTV images, to contact us immediately. If you remember even the smallest detail it could prove vital in the investigation." Can you help? Anyone with information is asked to contact Fratton police station quoting Operation Bembridge on 0845 045 45 45 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111. One man, a 24-year-old from Portsmouth, has been arrested in connection with this incident and released on police bail until November 2008.
