The Towcester Town and the Towcester Rural Safer Community Teams will be taking the mobile police station to a charity event on Saturday 2 August to meet and talk with members of the local community. The event will begin at 12pm and will take place on the recreation ground outside of the Towcester Community Centre on Islington Road, Towcester. Officers from the two Safer Community Teams will be at the event, which is being held by ‘Home-Start', with the mobile police station and a quad bike for children to come along to have a look and sit on. The fete will include a range of activities for all of the family including a dog show, face painting, tombola and raffles. The event offers the chance for the community to meet their local officers and for the team to offer crime prevention advice. PC Simon Reid from the Towcester Town Safer Community Team said: "We hope that local residents will attend as the day offers the opportunity for them to discuss any problems they have in their area and to also express their views on current priority issues."
