Four of television's best-loved characters will be the stars of the Children's Marquee at the Northampton Town Show on the Bank Holiday weekend. Fifi and Bumble from Fifi and the Flowertots will be joined by Peppa Pig and the world-famous Bart Simpson throughout the weekend and children of all ages will be able to meet their TV favourites at Franklin's Gardens. Fifi and Bumble, both seen every morning on Channel Five, will be leaving the Flowertot garden for the weekend to meet their fans in Northampton. Peppa Pig is also a regular in Channel Five's ‘Milkshake' morning children's programmes. Gates open at 10am on Saturday, May 24th and Sunday, May 25th, and Bart in particular is excited by the prospect of meeting the expected 50,000 visitors to the Town Show. "I've said it before, and I'll say it again... ay caramba!" he said. As well as being home for the weekend to Fifi, Bumble, Peppa Pig and Bart, the Children's Marquee itself will be filled with fun and games, with puppet and magic shows, face painting, hair braiding and County Jester Kevin Burke teaching circus skills. Meanwhile there will be a rare opportunity to navigate model boats around the Franklin's Gardens Village lake, and the children's funfair that was so popular at last November's fireworks will be making a return.
