A woman has been evicted from her Guinness Midsummer home following long-term anti-social behaviour and drug use/dealing in and around the property. At Aylesbury County Court on 24 June 2008, the district judge ordered an outright possession order for 18 Crown Leys, Aylesbury. The female tenant, 46-year-old Deborah Almond, who has caused months of misery for her neighbours and community, was evicted on 9 July. Since moving into the two-bed house in 2007, Almond has been charged and convicted twice with possession of a Class A drug, and on one of the occasions with intent to supply. As a responsible landlord, Guinness Midsummer tried to offer support and advice to help the tenant, but continuous rebuffs to this approach meant that a tough line of action was necessary for the safety and well being of the community. PC Gareth Nicholson, Neighbourhood Specialist Officer (NSO) for Elmhurst, said: "This address has been a focus for crime and anti-social behaviour since Deborah Almond moved in. Together with colleagues in the neighbourhood team, I have received numerous reports of drug use in the property since 2007. "By working with the landlord, Guinness Midsummer, we were able to use a range of powers to remove Almond and bring an end to the problems suffered by her neighbours."
