LEICESTER City Council leader, Cllr Ross Willmott, will visit residents and organisations during a patch walk in the city's Fosse ward. Cllr Willmott will be joined by Fosse ward councillors, Rob Wann and Manish Sood, for the event in Leicester's West End, which takes place on Tuesday, February 19. The visit will start at the Fosse Neighbourhood Centre at 9.30am, when the group will meet centre manager Eliza Brinham, the council's head of community services, Steve Goddard, and speak to users and staff. They will then walk to Newfoundpool Community Centre, meeting and greeting residents along the way. Once at the centre, at around 10am, they will talk to staff and user groups such as the Maya Asian women's group. Following a tour of the centre the group will meet residents along Fosse Road to discuss any local issues, before arriving at Fosse Primary School at 11.15am. Once there they will meet head teacher Steve Boyce, and speak with parents, staff and governors on a tour of the school. The patch walk ends at 11.30am. Cllr Willmott said: "Patch walks are great opportunities to get out into communities, meet residents and discuss local issues which are important to people, and I look forward to taking part in this latest one." |
