MAD ABOUT PLAY - 06-08-2008

Broxtowe Borough Council is mad about play and wants all children to have access to local, exciting free play opportunities in the summer holidays. In July brand new ‘Play in the Parks' sessions were held for 2 weeks and the Council has also extended the number of ‘Summer Play Days' across the Borough to 8 days.

Summer Play Days run from the 2nd to the 15th August between 12 noon and 4.00pm in local parks. There are lots of exciting arts & craft activities, sport challenges and competitions, music, dance, circus skills, Pinxton Puppets, Petwise Zoo as well as loads of adventurous activities such as 'Ring World' Inflatable structures, BMX challenges. There will also be a messy play tent for the under 5's. Play days taking place include:

Monday 4 August - Chilwell
Wednesday 6 August - Stapleford
Thursday 7 August -Nuthall
Friday 8 August - Kimberley
Monday 11 August - Beeston Fields
Tuesday 12 August - Eastwood
Thursday 14 August - Brinsley
Friday 15 August - Beeston Rylands

Play In Parks took place between 21 July & 2 August with Broxtowe Borough Play Rangers, the National Play Company Meynell Games, Professional BMX instructor Richards Camm and Sure Start who visited 12 local parks with free programme of adventurous play opportunities.
