LEARN ABOUT LAWRENCE - Thur 4 Sept

A talk from Dr. Nick Barratt from BBC2's ‘Who do you think you are?' is be one of the highlight events of this years D.H Lawrence Festival on 4 September. Or do want to find out more about D.H.Lawrence, local dialects and mining? Now is the perfect opportunity to do just that as part of the Festival there will be a host of exciting talks from Lawrence experts to leading local and family historians.
Dr. Barratt will be talking about Family history and the media drawing on his experiences working for television. Nick will also be happy to answer questions and give the advice in an ‘ask the expert' session and provide an insight into the fascinating subject of the family tree.
This year the festival also welcomes talks from crime writer, John Harvey, local historian David Amos and the Lawrence experts, Peter Preston, Keith Sagar, Ron Faulks, Professor Worthen and Dr Hilary Hillier. All their topics couldn't be more interesting or diverse from local dialect to mining, Lawrence's books and stories and a rather intriguing link between Lawrence and John Newton, the famous abolitionist.

D.H. Lawrence Heritage is open daily from 10.00am until 5.00pm. Admission is free on weekdays with a small admission charge for non-Broxtowe residents at weekends and bank holidays. Further information about D.H. Lawrence Heritage can be found at
