Queen Donates Flowers to HRI Patient, Mildred - 30-05-2007

A patient at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary has received a bouquet of flowers - sent with get-well wishes from the Queen.

During her Royal visit the Queen was presented with the bouquet whilst visiting Huddersfield University and she requested they be given to a patient at HRI.
Staff on ward 6 at the hospital chose Mildred Foster, of Thongsbridge, as the recipient. Jill Reddy, staff nurse, said: "Mildred has been in the hospital for some time now and we thought the flowers would help to lift her spirits and on the road to a speedy recovery."

Mildred, 86, who saw the Queen on her last visit to Huddersfield in 1971, said: "How nice to receive flowers from the Queen herself! Its just a shame I was in hospital during her second visit as I missed on all the excitement, I've heard it was a very special day."
