Free Adult Cycling Training - 28-05-08 to 29-05-08
|
This two evening course is aimed at encouraging adultsof all ages to cycle more for whatever reason. Want to get back on that bike after some time away? Like the idea of refreshing and updating your cycling skills and boosting your confidence? The course will be run at Greenhead Park Huddersfield on Wednesday 28th May(5.30pm-7.30pm) and Thursday 29th May(5.30pm-7.30pm). Meet near the tennis courts.
Wanting to take your cycling skills and knowlage to a higher level but perhaps more comfortable with the idea of a woman only group? Like the idea of getting out more on your bike but haven't been cycling for sometime and anxious about traffic.
Fancy the prospect of cycling to work a few days per week but not too confident about the best routes, where cycle lanes/tracks are and what may be the best way of getting started?
Keen to start getting fitter with some gental excercise riding your bike with family/frends/the kids but feel a bit unsure of yourself?
Or maybe you are already pedalling out and about on two wheels but would welcome some more help, advice, support, information and guidence on cycling in traffic, developing more advanced skills and feeling more confident about exploring further afield?
The course is highley practical, with experienced instructors from the Kirklees Road Safety Team, working through Nationally recognised framework of activities, techniques and confidence building, starting off road (empty car park) and progressing to on road trips, handling junctions, cycling in traffic and lane changing etc, with pplenty of supervision and support.
We can also give your bile a health check to help make sure it is safe and roadworthy
For those who are interested there is the Bikeability Certificate available (levels 1, 2 and 3) depending on your ability and how far you want to take the training subsequently. There is every chance of achieving Level 2 by the end of the second evening.
Further rides can be arranged on additional dates to enable you to achieve level 3 of the National standard.
If it is easier bring your bike to the session in or on a car, there is ample parking at Greenhead Park
If any of this sounds appealing why no ring to discuss it further, book a place on the course or arrange to come on the first evening contact Andy Dearnaly tel no. 01484 221162 and see how it goes.
