Travelling to Hemel Hempstead

Hemel Hempstead is easy to reach by different modes of transport and is well connected to main road networks and train lines.

Come by Car

Leaving the M1 at junction 8, you join the A414 where clear signs will lead you straight towards the town centre with its central roundabout - officially known as 'The Plough Roundabout' but locally called 'The Magic Roundabout'.

Travelling from the M25, take junction 20 and follow the A41 west towards Aylesbury and take the first exit off the A41 to Hemel Hempstead.

Or, if you prefer you can come direct from central London west on the A41. Hemel Hempstead is so easy to reach you might not even need your SAT NAV!

Hop on a Bus

National Express coaches come and go from Hemel Hempstead bus station regularly and serve surrounding airports as well. Arriva is the local bus operator serving Hemel Hempstead and the outlying areas.

Catch a Train

London Midland operates a frequent overground train service from London Euston via Watford Junction to Hemel Hempstead continuing towards Milton Keynes and Birmingham.

Book a Flight

Luton airport is only about a 25 minute drive from Hemel Hempstead and flights arrive daily from other parts of the country and world. Heathrow is also only about a 30 minute drive depending on traffic on the M25. Gatwick and Stansted airports are a bit further out but still very accessible for the Hemel area.

Hire a Barge

Part of the attraction of this part of the country is its canal links which stretch all the way from Birmingham to London. So if you have plenty of time you can always meander down through the countryside to arrive for a pub lunch along the canal at Hemel Hempstead. Maybe not for the everyday commuter but always an option!

Whatever way you choose just get here if you can!
