An operation run by the Stroud Police Priority Team led to three arrests and the discovery of what is believed to be Class A drugs last night. A white transporter van suspected of being involved in drug running was stopped by Police officers in the centre of Nailsworth at around 9pm on Thursday, October 9. Three people were subsequently arrested: a 30 year-old man from Avening on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and intention to supply a controlled substance; a 36 year-old woman from Stroud on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs; and a 17 year-old woman from Stonehouse on suspicion of conspiracy to supply a controlled substance. Acting Detective Inspector Tony Jones, of Stroud Police, said: "This was an intelligence-led, proactive operation that resulted in the discovery of hundreds of pounds' worth of class A drugs destined for the streets of Gloucestershire.
