A persistent car crime criminal released from prison on Monday October 6 has been sent back to jail after he was caught attempting to break into a vehicle. Ladislav Simovic, 28, was arrested on Tuesday October 7 just one day after his release from prison. He was spotted attempting to break into a car in St James' Street, Gloucester. Charged with the offence Simovic appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Thursday October 9 and received a 15-week prison sentence. Sergeant Jon Testar, from the Barton, Tredworth and White City Safer Community Team, said: "We are currently tackling three neighbourhood priorities as voted for by the community, one of which is car crime. "This is a positive arrest of a persistent criminal who has a complete disregard for damaging and stealing from vehicles in this area of Gloucester. "The SCT continues to target car crime offenders. We check those subject to curfews or other bail conditions, make positive arrests of those active in car crime and disrupt criminal activity. "All residents and visitors are reminded that valuables should be removed from vehicles when left unattended including sat navs and car stereos." http://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/item3926.html |
