Aldi recalls its own-brand Ashfield West Country Whole Chicken - 07-10-2008

Aldi has recalled its own-brand West Country Whole Chicken because it has been labelled with the wrong 'use by' date. The Agency has issued a Food Alert for Information.

The product being recalled is:

• Product: Ashfield (Aldi brand) West Country Whole Chicken
  Pack size: 1.7 kg and 1.2kg
  Use by: 10 November 2008 (incorrect date)
  Batch Code: UK 8005 EC

The incorrect 'use by' date applied to the product is 10 November 2008 - it should have been labelled 10 October 2008.

No other Aldi products are known to be affected.

Aldi has recalled the affected product and recall notices have been displayed in all stores explaining why the product has been recalled and advising anyone who has bought the product to return it to their nearest Aldi store for a full refund. To read the full recall notice go to the link below.
