People who run or are thinking about running a business from home are being invited to a specially-designed event to get the best advice available. East Renfrewshire Council, in partnership with Business Gateway, are running an event dedicated to the thousands of people who run a business from home or who have their home as their main work base. The event on 28 October from 10.30 to 3pm in Eastwood House, Giffnock is free. There will be workshops by Business Gateway, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and The Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust. Stalls packed with information from the local chambers of commerce, banks, networking organisations and the guest speaker will be Gordon Brown of Circuit Break. With networking opportunities throughout the day and free buffet lunch it's a real chance for local business-people to make some excellent contacts and find out how to grow and develop their business. Economic development convener at the council, Councillor Tony Buchanan, said: "People running businesses from home will get a great deal from this day. As well as meeting up with tax and business experts, you'll be able to meet up with people who are in a similar position to you. And for those of you who have an idea or thought that's been developing about starting up a new business venture in East Renfrewshire this event will help point you in the right direction." The homeworker event is flexible and you can drop in, but make sure of your place at the workshops and find out more details by calling Lynsey Hughes on 0141 577 3773 or email lynsey.hughes@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk |
