Pupils, parents and staff have joined forces at Netherlee Primary School to turn the clock back with an open evening to mark the school's 75th anniversary. Stamperland Pipe Band, made up of former pupils, will signal the start of the event at 6.30 pm on Wednesday 21 May with some rousing tunes as former staff and pupils and members of the community file in to view displays of Netherlee over the last 75 years. Head teacher Sandra Mitchell said: "Everyone, including our parent council, has worked very hard to bring the displays together to show how Netherlee has changed over the years and anyone who would like to take a trip into the past with us is very welcome. We even have a tawse on display, but we don't expect to have to use it if any of the visitors prove to be unruly!" www.eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk |
