Head boys and girls from East Renfrewshire's seven secondary and one special school have been praised for their leadership and presented with certificates by the council for giving a fine example to young people. Education convener Councillor Alan Lafferty and vice-convener Councillor Elaine Green presented the certificates at a ceremony in Eastwood House, Giffnock. Education head of service, Susan Gow, added her own congratulations to the sixth year pupils. Councillor Alan Lafferty said: "Our head boys and girls have played a key role in encouraging other young people in their schools by their example and commitment to others."
