West Fife Cllr William Walker Congratulates Cairneyhill Primary School on Inspection Success - 29-09-2008

"Cairneyhill Primary School must be congratulated on their recent excellent Government HMIe Report issued 30th Sept 2008", says West Fife and Coastal Villages SNP Councillor William Walker.

"Mrs Lesley Carter and her staff have now achieved a very high standard at the School.  In particular, in the area of 'care, welfare and development' (of children), the inspectors have rated the School as 'excellent', i.e. as of the highest quality in this sector", declared Cllr Walker.

Cllr Walker continued, "In the thirteen other quality indicators that the Government inspectors always look at, the School was assessed as either 'very good' or 'good'.  These improvements have been truly outstanding, which is all the more remarkable, given some recent problems and with Mrs Carter only taking over as Headteacher last year !

Cllr Walker concluded: "In addition to its more academic achievements, Cairneyhill also achieved the Eco Schools Scotland silver award, a great result for all the pupils, staff and parents in this Community School".
