Police in Fareham are seeking witnesses and appealing for information following a recent spate of criminal damage on brick walls in the Fareham and Portchester areas. Since Saturday, October 4, police have recorded 21 incidents where the front brick walls of residential homes have been damaged or pulled down completely. In Stubbington, homes in Harold Road, East House Avenue and Burnt House Lane have all had walls damaged. In Fareham, incidents have occurred in Longmynd Avenue, Blackbrook Road and Highlands Road. In Portchester, houses in Castle Street, Orchard Grove and Sandport Grove have been affected. Inspector David Hunter said: "This kind of mindless vandalism will not be tolerated by police and we are very keen to find those responsible. "Most incidents have occurred around or after 10 o'clock in the evening. "Some of the residents we have spoken to have reported hearing a car driving away immediately after the damage has been done and a small dark coloured car has been seen in the area of some incidents, driving away at speed. "We would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents, or may have information about the people involved to get in touch with us as soon as possible. "If you see a car matching the description of the one seen during or after an incident, make a note of its details, including registration if possible, and let us know. "If you have had your walls damaged in a similar way, please get in touch with your local police station." Anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents, or has information about the people or the car involved, should contact Fareham police station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
