One man has been arrested after a van was stolen from a car park on Kingston Road in Portsmouth.
On Sunday, July 20, a 46-year-old man left his van in the car park opposite the Admiral Drake pub while he went on a night out. When he went to collect the van the next morning he found it had been stolen.
The vehicle was later found in a hotel car park at Bedhampton Hill, on the evening of Thursday, August 14. A man seen with the vehicle was also arrested.
It is believed that the stolen van, a red Hyundai registration W373 PPF, may have been used in connection with a number of other incidents between July 21, when it was stolen, and August 14, when it was recovered.
Officers investigating these incidents are now appealing for anyone who witnessed incidents involving this vehicle between the dates stated to contact police if they have not already done so.
PC Chris Buckton said, "We are currently piecing together the van's movements during the time it was missing, and so if anyone thinks they may have seen it and they have not already contacted police, I would urge them to do so.
"A number of items which did not belong to the van's owner were found inside the van when it was seized and so we are hoping to reunite these belongings with their original owners as part of this process." News Source: http://www.hampshire.police.uk |
