Police appeal for information following robbery in Chineham - 19-07-2008

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for information after a robbery in Chineham on Wednesday, July 16.

Sometime between 3.30pm and 4.15pm a 14-year-old boy was cycling along a pathway from the A33 towards Chineham Retail Park.

As he cycled along the path a man grabbed him and pushed him off his bike.

The man then picked up the bike and walked away with it.

He is described as: 

• White
• Aged between 16 and 18 years old
• 5ft 10ins
• Medium to long dark brown hair
• Slim build
• Spotty, slim face
• Wearing jogging bottoms and a white t-shirt

PC Alix Davis, of Basingstoke police station, said: "This incident happened in daylight and there may have been people around in the area.

"We are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who has information about it."
