Police in Alton are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at a bookmakers in the town on Monday, May 12.
Just after 9pm a ginger haired man was playing on one of the fruit machines within the Tote bookmakers in the High Street.
He was approached by another man who pulled out a metal file and demanded money from him.
Both men then turned to a member of staff who was cashing up and asked her where the money was.
The ginger haired man then grabbed around £170 in cash and both men left the store together.
The cash was largely made up of 2p and 50p coins and was in a blue coinage tray.
The first man is described as: - White
- Ginger hair
- Late teens or early 20s
- Pitted skin
- Wearing a dark hooded top and jeans
The second man was wearing a dark coloured hooded top, zipped up to cover his face.
Detective Constable Richard Skillern, from Alton CID, said: "We are appealing to members of the public to help us with our investigation.
"This incident happened at a time in the evening when people may have been around. "Anyone who saw anyone matching the above descriptions in the area at the time of the incident is urged to contact police as soon as possible." News Source: http://www.hampshire.police.uk/ |
