Exeter Rugby Squad Goto Launceston. - 20-08-2008

LARGE SQUAD TO HEAD TO LAUNCESTON 2008-08-20 FINAL PRE-SEASON GAME BECKONS

Exeter Chiefs will be hoping to build on last Saturday's win over Bristol Rugby with this weekend's trip to Launceston.

Chiefs will be taking 37 players to the home of the Cornish All Blacks to give as many players as possible a run out before the start of the National League One season. A full XV will start at 3pm with a fresh XV running out at half-time with replacements also rolling on and off throughout the game.

Fly-half Gareth Steenson will yet again start for Chiefs after landing all 15 of Exeter's points last weekend and will be bidding for a starting spot in for the Chiefs' first league game against Esher on August 30.

He said: "It is very nice to get any points in any game; to get all the points is a nice bonus but that's my job and my responsibility to the team. The guys get us the penalties and it's my responsibility to kick them.

"Every game is different though. You have got to go out try to achieve that 100 per cent record and I will go out and do my best.

"Last weekend is last weekend. I have had an opportunity and now have one this weekend. I will need to go out and get some good rugby under my belt."

Steenson's fly-half competitor Danny Gray will be given game time in the second half on Saturday as part of his rehabilitation from a groin injury. Both Matt Jess and Neil Clark will be playing against their former side for the first time.
