Old bike wanted

I'm looking for an old racing bike to do up, preferably one from before the 1970s but I'll consider anything - the older the better! My dad had one from the late 1940s/early 1950s and that's my goal but I'm probably being unrealistic.

I might be interested in an old roadster-type bike as well, maybe with Sturmey Archer-type gears, for running to the shops. If you have anything that you think might be of interest, I'd love to hear from you.
